Christine Brown

Christine “Chris” Brown, age 76 of Gardendale passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Born in Cullman County on January 27, 1937 she was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Novie Nicholas and a sister, Geneva White. She is survived by her loving family, her husband of 57 years, James “Jim” R. Brown; 3 sons, Roger K. Brown (Paula), Randy W. Brown, and Gary “Nick” Brown; grandchildren, Brandon Brown, Candace Hodges (Jeremy), and Amber Sargent (Brandon); great grandchildren, Kelston Hodges, Kinbrey Hodges, and Caden Sargent; and a sister, Carol Picker. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. Her greatest gift was her warm charismatic disposition that endeared friendships for life. She loved cooking for her family and having everyone together. She always enjoyed working in her flower gardens and later growing them in containers on her deck.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 9th at 2 PM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 PM. In her honor the family has requested that donations be made to the Help Hospitalized Veterans USA, 36585 Penfield Lane, Winchester, CA 92596
