David S. Johnston

David Stephen “Steve” Johnston, age 64 of Warrior, AL passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Steve proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for more than 40 years as a mechanic with The Lilly Company (Clark) in Birmingham. He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Johnston, a brother Bill Johnston, and a brother-in-law, Ted Haywood. Steve is survived by his wife of 37 years, Denise Johnston; two sons, Kevin Johnston (Jacque ) and Robert Johnston (Daniell); mother, Dorothy Johnston; his sisters, Nancy Haywood, Susan Collins (Scott), and Christy Jones (Alan); sister-in-law, Kelly Johnston; Grandchildren, Parker Johnston, Copeland Johnston, London Johnston, Maximus Johnston, and Cooper Johnston; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, August 5th, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel beginning at 1 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow with USMC Military Honors at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Rev. James Register and Rev. Mike Whisenant will officiate.
