David W. Logan, age 72 of Mount Olive, AL passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. David served his country proudly in Viet Nam as a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from Vulcan Materials with more than 45 years of service and was a member of North Gardendale Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, LaShawn Logan; a son, David Logan, Jr. (Denise) of Hayden; his daughter, Nikki Myers (Jeff) of Brookside; brother, Don Logan (Jackie) of Blountsville; sisters, Sandra Moore (Roger) of Birmingham, Stephanie Swann (Jimmy) of Odenville, and Debbie Stewart (Michael) of Gardendale; his eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, Arnie and Mildred Logan; and brothers, Charles Logan and Jerry Logan.
A visitation will be held on Friday evening at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 5 until 8 PM with chapel services on Saturday beginning at 2 PM. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens with U.S. Army Military Honors.
