Delia “Dee” Ann Hammond of Gardendale, Al was born January 29, 1938 and passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the age of 80. Dee was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She enjoyed fishing, playing Bunko with her friends, and watching Alabama football with her family. Dee was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Bates Reese; her parents, Jethro Culwell and Annie Barnett; and a brother, Joe Culwell. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Audie Hammond; a daughter, Lynn Hammond Howell; Grandchildren, Roger Lee Watrous (Leslie), Ryan Lee Watrous, and Stephanie Lynn Houston (Chad); Great Grandchildren, Brody Watrous, Maddy Watrous, Tyler Watrous, and Brayden Houston.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 21st at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 11 AM with visitation beginning one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Terry Hill will officiate services.
