Emily Johnson

Emily Ruth Lockridge Johnson age 80 of Gardendale, passed away on October 11, 2019. She was born on March 15, 1939 to Omar and Mildred Lockridge. Emily was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed reading, planting flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. One of her favorite times of the year was when she would attend the annual Lockridge family reunion and spend time with her family.

Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy (James Richard Johnson Sr.) She was also preceded in death by her son, Ronnie (Ronald Clinton Johnson) and her brother, Omar Lockridge. She is survived by her son, Rick (James Richard Johnson Jr.), her grandchildren: Nick (James Nicholas Johnson), Marissa Emily Johnson Rizzo, and her husband Nathan, and her great-grandson: Collin Joseph Rizzo.

She is also survived by her siblings Bonnie Cornett (Gene) and Ronald Lockridge (Linda), along with several nieces, nephews, and loving family members.

A celebration of life visitation for Emily will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A celebration of life funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A burial will occur at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071.
