Eva Emogene Thomas, age 84 of Hayden was born January 12, 1929 and passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas; daughter, Connie Thomas; great grandson, Colby Sims; parents, Chester and Bertha Acton; brothers, Grady Acton and Norman Acton; sisters, Inez Coryea and Marjorie McDuffie. She is survived by her loving family, daughters, Regina Mahaffey (Raymond) of Pinson, Marsha Hawkins (Tommy) of Cullman, Rae Powell (Art) of Hayden; grandchildren, Johnna Gowen, Jeff Mahaffey, Jarrod Mahaffey, Jena Mahaffey, Caleb Hawkins, Sheila Powell, Amber Russell, and Joey Powell; great grandchildren, Blakely Sims, Shelbi Gowen, Garrett Mahaffey, Evan Rutledge, Katie and Josh Poore, Brayden Russell, Khloe and Alexandria Powell; sisters, Ezell Patterson, Pauline White, and Edwina Burns; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 12:00 Noon with visitation from 10 until 12 pm. Interment will follow in Union Grove Cemetery in Hayden.
