Of Mt. Olive, AL was born to the late Andrew and Margaret McLeod and passed away at the age of 93. Evelyn devoted her life to her family she loved so dear. She was a faithful member of the Mt. Olive UMC where she served the Lord for many years. She enjoyed giving her time as a volunteer for the Urban Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, William Irie Roper. She is survived by her Son, Andrew Roper; Daughters, Peggy Rice and Patsy Graham (Art); Grandchildren, William Cole, III, Tony Calvert (Christie) and Donna Postell (Tony), Ashley Reid, April Rice; Great-grandchildren, Justin, Bailey, Cael, Hailey, Sophia Billy, Jacob, Brianna, and Kaylee.
A Funeral service will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Monday, Nov. 11th, at 2:00pm with a visitation beginning at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations in her honor be made to the American Heart Association.
