

Frank E. “Eddy” Chamblee, was born May 22, 1946 and died August 17, 2016 at the age of 70. Eddy graduated from Phillips High School in 1964. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps that same year. He served his country faithfully including a year in Viet Nam near the DMZ. He began his career at American Cast Iron Pipe Company in 1967. He retired with 40 years of service. The people there affectionately called him Hairy. He married the love of his life in 1966 and had been happily so for 50 years. Eddy was a member of Smoke Rise United Methodist Church. He sang in the choir. He loved his Lord, his wife, his family, and his country. Eddy was a loving, caring, Godly man. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Arnold Chamblee and Eirvle Gunter Chamblee. He is survived by his wife/ help mate/ friend, Joyce “Butch” Scott Chamblee, his sister, Susan Chamblee McCutchen (Wayne); sisters-in-laws, Betty Owen and Debbie Marsalis (Larry); five nephews, one niece, and several grand nephews. He was loved by his family and his friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 22nd at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 11 am until service time at 1 PM. Entombment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to Smoke Rise United Methodist Church, 1395 Scenic Trail, Warrior, AL 35180. SEMPER FI !
