Frankie Baird Swindle

Frankie Baird Swindle, 79 of Gardendale, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 19, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held December 3, 2022, at Kimberly United Methodist Church, 9178 Old Highway 31, Kimberly, Alabama, 35091, at 2:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, Frankie and her family have requested a donation to her church (Kimberly United Methodist Church) or the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance OCRA. Frankie was born in Jefferson County to the parents of John T. and Martha Baird on July 15, 1943. She married Jimmy Swindle, Sr. on January 4, 1960 in Jefferson County in a small ceremony at her sister Dean’s home. Frankie and Jimmy were married for 62 years, they lived a full and happy life with their three children in Gardendale, Alabama. Frankie was a high school graduate. She retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education as a Lunchroom Manager for Snow Rogers Elementary School. Frankie loved to read, spend time with her family, garden, watch the hummingbirds and was an active member of her church. She was the song leader at Friendship Baptist Church for many years until the church closed. She loved her family fiercely, was an amazing mother, a loyal and true friend to all that knew her, and a Christian who loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart. Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, John T. and Martha Baird, daughter, Sheila Swindle Edwards, son-in-law, Chuck Sorenson, and grandson, Justin Davis. There were many other friends and family that were waiting at heaven's gate to welcome her home. Frankie is survived by her husband Jimmy Swindle Sr., her daughter Panisa Sorenson, and her son Jimmy Swindle Jr. (Sheila). She leaves behind a host of brothers and sisters on both sides of the family, sister Dean Bain, sister Earline Findley, sister Margie Wooten, brother J.T. Baird Jr. (T-Boy), brother Warren Baird (Gretha), brother-in-law Tommy Swindle (Dell), Brother-in-law Robert Swindle (Patsy), Sister-in-law Barbara Richey (Curtis), brother-in-law Billy Swindell deceased (Linda), brother-in-law Danny Swindle (Lavaughn). Her grandchildren Candise Graves (Matt), Matthew Soerenson (Caity), Sam Swindle (Kaitlin), Gabby Hallmark (Tanner), and Kimberly Swindle. Great Grandchildren Caden Trice, Connor Graves, Marissa Graves, Will Sorenson, Emilynn Sorenson and Kynsey Swindle. Frankie had numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great too. She loved her family fiercely and kept track of all of them, whether she saw them or not. She loved you all so much.
