

Age 62, of Mount Olive, Alabama passed away on February 13, 2016. Born on Long Island NY, she always had a quick wit and a determined air surrounding her that allowed the people around her to make the most out of their lives. Raised in a household filled with love and music, she embraced the power that music provides as well as its healing nature. Gayle passed this love of music on to her children whether it is symphony concerts, Broadway shows, small ensembles and or solo performances. Gayle continued to show unending support to her children in all of their endeavors. Gayle obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from SUNY Oswego, in upstate NY. Gayle was a person who always tried to help others and shortly after moving to Alabama she became whole heartedly involved with her children's schools. This grew into 33 years as a prolific Substitute teacher in Jefferson County. Gayle was beloved by the students she taught. During the last 15 years she began to focus more in exceptional learning classes, helping students with physical and mental behavioral issues. Growing up in New York, she was an avid New York Yankees and Rangers fan. Gayle would never miss a game, whether televised or in person. She always had her dogs and birds at her side to cheer them on. She loved the beach. She is survived by her husband, three daughters, her son, and grandson.
