

George Edward Davidson Sr, of Fultondale, passed away at the age of 70 on October 2, 2022. He was a member of Farley Mission Church, a Mason of Blue Lodge Dolcito, a Shriner and a lifetime member of York Rites. George was the owner of Davidson Trucking Inc, with over 40 years of experience. He was a graduate of Rogers Vocational School and Walker State College and an ASE Certified Mechanic. The greatest achievement in his life was being a dad and Papa. From fishing to lake trips and from racing to teaching life skills, he loved to do anything that he could with his grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his parents George and Lois (Farley) Davidson, sister Pat Smith, brothers Donnie and Ricky Davidson, his son George (Buddy) Davidson, and his grandchildren George Blair and Timothy Blake Davidson.
Survivors include his wife Linda Davidson, daughter Jennifer (Rick) Packer, sisters Ruby Hayes, and Lois Allen, and his brothers Charles and John Davidson. Grandchildren: Rhein, Riley, Kolby, Hannah, Abigail, Emily, Blair, Bryanna, and Zoe. Goddaughters: Monica and Miranda Everett. Godsons: Jake and Josh Kirk. Best friends: Doyle Sadler, John (Pop) Hudson, Sonny Hayes, Ken (Foots) Fulton, and Bill Kirk. Special family: Derek (Kelli) McConnell, Jammie (Sherman) Everett, Janice (Craig) Hunsberger, Ted (Patricia) Smelley, Mavis Kent, and Wesley (Shell, Rylan, and Alex) Davidson.
George was a fair and gentle man with a big heart; he believed in doing things right and expected the same from others. He would quickly tell folks how he saw things. When he experienced a storm in his life, he would endure it to the end. He never let anything get in the way of his commit to his family and friends. He would always stop anything that he was doing to help someone in need. George was a man who found pleasure and joy in the simple things in life, helping others was a blessing to him. No greater love will be found in this life except the Love of God.
Services for George will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, Saturday, October 8, 2022. Visitation at 1:00 PM; funeral service at 2:30 PM, followed by his burial at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL.
