

George Wilmer Osborn, a devoted, loving husband and father, a resident of Gardendale, AL, was born in Winston County, AL, on October 26, 1922. He went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on December 10, 2014 at the age of 92. He proudly served his country in WWII and he retired from U.S. Pipe after 38 years of service. He was a longtime member of New Georgia Baptist Church in Fultondale where he served the Lord as a Deacon.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Osborn; his first wife, Mary England Osborn of 55 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Evelyn O’Dell Osborn; son, Gary Osborn; daughters, Paula Osborn King, Anita Mozingo (Jeff), Renee Sayers (Jack) and Denise Files (Lynn); brothers, Palmer Osborn (Merle), William Osborn (Iris), Doyle Osborn (Melba); sisters, Rilla Morgan, LeeAnna Denton, Bertie Russell, Iva June Clark (Leslie); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was well loved by those who knew him.
Service will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and a Funeral service Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11:00am. His burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL.
