Harry C. Smith

Harry had a long career as an electrician and retired after 43 years of service with ACIPCO. He was a wonderful family man and he loved his family dearly. He loved many things and among his favorites were antique cars, fishing, playing his guitar and singing with his friends, family, and various groups. He traveled with the Rambling A's Model A Club and he was a member of the North Gardendale Baptist Church.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Baxter and Jo Smith; his loving wife of 62 years, Frances Smith; one son, Tom Smith, and five siblings.

Harry is survived by his two daughters, Sharry Nail (Sam) and Patti Bragan; six grandchildren, Jason Nail, Meredith Nail, Kellie Morton (Brent), Audra Rankin (Brooks), Eli Smith (Sharona), and Trey White (Tiffany); fourteen great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

A celebration of life visitation for Harry will be held Monday, August 5, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A celebration of life service will occur Monday, August 5, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A burial will occur at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071.
