Helen Merelene Abbott

Helen Merelene Abbott, age 81 of Gardendale, AL passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the age of 81. Born in 1932 in Cullman County. She was a faithful member of East Gardendale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ruby Eidson; her son, Kerry “Bubba” Abbott; a sister, Betty Harbison; her brothers, Billy Eidson and Bobby Eidson; and great grandchildren, Carter McClure and Olsyn McClure. She is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Sherry Larkin (Keith); a son, Randy Abbott; sisters, Margaret Holmes, Ann Eidson, and Virginia Ledbetter; her grandchildren, Jeffery McClure, Brandy Gibson (Jason), Derrick Abbott, Nicole Abbott, and Cody Abbott; great grandchildren are Bailey and Peyton Gibson, Carson, Emmitt, and Oliver McClure; nieces, nephews, friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 5 until 8 PM with chapel funeral services on Wednesday beginning at 11AM. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale, AL. Brother Allen Davis and Wayne Hawkins will officiate. The family wishes to thank Hope Hospice for all the care they gave to her and her family during this time.
