Henry "Hank" S. Edwards

Henry "Hank" S. Edwards, age 51, of Bessemer, Alabama passed away on Saturday April 27, 2019. "Hank" was born May 23, 1967. Hank was a beloved officer of the Bessemer Police Department for over 23 years. He was selflessly dedicated to the city of Bessemer and passionate about the betterment of the entire community. Hank contributed many special acts of kindness and bravery throughout his tenure, to include being awarded the Medal of Valor for his heroic actions in which he saved a young girl from a burning building. Hank will always be much loved and forever missed. Hank was preceded by his parents Johnny and Doris Jean Edwards. He is survived by his daughters, Amber Elaine Edwards and Abbie Gail Edwards; a son, Isaac Wayne Edwards; brothers, John (Coni) Edwards and Terry (Mary) Edwards; the mother of his children Billie Edwards Nelson; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and his Bessemer Police Dept. family.

A celebration of life visitation for "Hank" will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A celebration of life service will occur Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071.
