Herbert Jackson “Jack” Lang, age 84 of Mt. Olive passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014. Jack was a veteran of the US Army serving his country proudly during the Korean Conflict. He was retired owner of Lang Fence Company for 36 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Lang; his parents Rufus D. and Grace Lang; brothers, Rufus D., Jr., Bill, Bob, Orville, and Don Lang; sisters, Freddie Jo Dudley, Mavous Duncan, Joyce Sloan and Guinda Angle. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lessie Lang; sons, Herbie and Charles Lang of Mt. Olive; his daughters, Susan (Todd) Colburn of Mt. Olive, Patti Cox of Pinson and Julie Mangina (Burke Ragsdale) of Akron, AL. He was a loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Lang; sisters, Ann Campbell and Jean Gilbert; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, April 1st, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 5:30 until 8 PM with chapel funeral services on Wednesday beginning at 2 PM. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. James Kelling will officiate services.
