Of Fultondale went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday surrounded by his family. He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Gardendale. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outside. He loved his family dearly and cherished the time he spent with them. He was always willing to help his neighbors, friends and family. He was a kind and gentle man and also a true “Gentleman”.
Herbert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Opal Parker. Brothers, Alvie, Aaron, Raymond and Herschel; Sisters, Ernestine and Farine. He is survived by his Daughters, Laura Arnold and Linda Parnell (Ronald); Grandchildren, Katrina Arnold Feola (John), Jared Arnold, John Parnell (Erin), Bryan Parnell (Deana); Great-grandchildren, Madalyn Feola, Parker Feola, Nora Parnell, Zachary Parnell, Chase Parnell; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:00am with a visitation to begin at 10:00am. Entombment will follow in the Oakwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
