Ida B. Belcher, age 85 of Gardendale, AL passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Ida was a longtime member of Friendship Community Church in Gardendale and was retired from Bellsouth with over 30 years of service. She most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and always put their needs before her own. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Oscar Belcher. She is survived by her three children, Deborah James (Talmadge), Mark Belcher (Karen), and Rodney Belcher (Loria); eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; her sister, Opal Martin of Pelham, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
Chapel services will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Rev. Benny Guffey will officiate the service.
