Ila Martin

Mrs She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was known by all for being a source of unconditional love and support. Her greatest joy came from helping others and exhibiting a Christ-like love to those in need. She was an active member of Gardendale First Baptist Church.

She was preceded by death by her second husband, William (d. 2008), and her first husband, Alva Wren (d. 1973), daughter, Denise Herring, and her granddaughter, Nicole.

She is survived by her sons, Darry Martin (Donna), Paul Wren; daughters, Sandra Seifert, Karen Townsend (Randy), Sheila Hartline, and Debra Johnson (Marc); 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, sister Luella Randle, and numerous family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of the Gardendale Rideout with Rev. Mark Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Moncrief Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Moncrief Cemetery, Gardendale, AL.
