J.C. McCrary, age 88 of Gardendale passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Nettie Knight McCrary; his sister, Ann Lee; and his great-grandchild, Aiden Taylor. He is survived by his loving family, daughters, Judy Land and Joylene Taylor (Lanny); a son, Larry Wren; grandchildren, Misty Collins Pruitt (Les), Chad Land, Josh Taylor, Leslie Taylor, and Michael Wren; great grandchildren, Luke Pruitt, Abbigail Pruitt, Dominic Taylor, and Noah Taylor.
J.C. was retired from Eastern Airlines where he worked as an aircraft mechanic for over 40 years. He enjoyed flying and was a licensed private pilot. He was a member of the Lynnwood Church of God and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21st at 2 PM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum with US Army military honors.
