

Jackie was proceeded in death by his parents J.C and Evelyn Johnson as well as his In-Laws Arthur and Constance Branscomb, who adored him. He was also proceeded in death by his brother Edward “Ed” Johnson and Archie “Bunky” Johnson.
Jackie is survived by his wife Janice Johnson of Warrior, Al and his daughter Charlene (Doug) Varden also of Warrior, AL. Jackie and Janice always wanted a large family and that they had. They were loved by their grandchildren Shanalyn Jones of Warrior, Dalton Vann of Warrior, Channing (Byron) Herron of Quinton; Cameron Varden of Dora, and Chelsea (Alex) Ragsdale of Warrior. Jackie was also survived by his two great-grandchildren Aksel and Daks. He is also survived by his brother Donald (Ann) Johnson of Greenpond, Patricia “Sissy” Williamson of Greenpond and Jane (Patrick) Arellano of Maylene. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Jackie attended West Blocton High School. He furthered his education at Southeastern Bible College, where his roommate Arthur “Bud” Branscomb introduced him to the love of his life, Janice Branscomb Johnson, Bud’s younger sister. Prior to their marriage Jackie joined the National Guard where he served his country for six years. Jackie retired from U. S Pipe and Foundry in Bessemer after 42 years of employment.
Jackie was a loving husband, a perfect Father and an even greater Grandfather but most of all he was a shining example of a man of Christ. Jackie had the most loving heart and always lived to serve Christ.
You never saw my Father without a smile on his face and a quick joke. He was loved by all who knew him.
A visitation for Jackie will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 2427 Corner Road, Warrior, AL 35180, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
