James W. Doss

DOSS, James W. age 89 of Tarrant passed away September 26, 2013 with his family by his side. A Service to celebrate the rejoining of James with his wife Betty of 58 years will be held Sunday September 29, 2013 3:00 p.m. at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Rev. Rufus Harris will lead the Service. James was a member of Center Springs Baptist Church in Blount County. He retired from CSX Railroad after 31 years. Also a sheetrock hanger for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Betty Doss; children Betty Faye and Martha Kay Doss; parents George and Daisy Doss, grandsons Bobby Ray Jackson and Keith Yarbrough, great great grandson Preston Elliot; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by son Wiley (Glenda) Doss, Daughter JoAnn (Ronnie) Startley, Sheila (Steve) Yarbrough, Jackie (Timmie) Adams. Grandchildren, Allen (Grace) Startley, Ott (Donna) Startley, Bryan Adams, Kim Tate, Angie (Joey) Lay, Kristy (Bobby) Brock, Lisa (David) Elliot. Great Grandchildren, Jamie and Nathaniel Startley, Ashlee and Olivia Yarbrough, Shelby Green, Austin and Ethan Adams, Lauren and Dalton Tate, Kayla Birmingham, Alyssa Thrift, Taylor, Jacob, Aliyah, Brock, Megan and Amber Elliott. Great Great Grandson Braxton Horton. Very Special girlfriend Mary Sanders. Pallbearers; Allen Startley, Ott Startley, Jamie Startley, Nathaniel Startley, Bobby Brock, Dalton Tate. A Visitation will be held on Saturday September 28, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel.
