James "Rick" Richard Johnson

James Richard Johnson Jr, “Rick", age 56 of Gardendale, passed away on December 29, 2020. He was born on February 22, 1964 to James & Emily Johnson. Rick was a loving son, brother, uncle, and an all around good guy. He loved his family and his friends and he always had a smile on his face.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, James R. Johnson Sr. and mother Emily Ruth Lockridge Johnson; brother Ronald Clinton Johnson “Ronnie”; grandparents Omar and Mildred Lockridge, and Ellis and Rachel Johnson, and uncle Omar Clinton Lockridge Jr.

Rick is survived by his nephew, James “Nick” Johnson, niece Marissa Rizzo (Nathan), great nephew Collin Rizzo, aunt Bonnie Cornett (Gene) and uncle Ronnie Lockridge (Linda). He is also survived by his cousins Jeff Cornett (Tracy), Krissy Hammond, Greg Lockridge (Caroline), Sandy Deininger (Tommy) and a host of other special family members and friends.

A celebration of life visitation for Rick will be held Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a celebration of life graveside service to follow at 11:00 AM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071.
