To some she was known as Jan, to others she was Sissy. Jan loved her family dearly. She enjoyed the times they all spent together, especially around the holidays. She also loved spending time with her friends, whether it was going to eat at Golden Corral, or going to the Alabama games. Jan also loved the beach.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John D. Elmore; and brothers Jimmy Glenn Lowery and Wendall Rodger Lowery.
She is survived by four nephews, Lynn (Kelli) Lowery, Rodger (Suzie) Lowery, Nathan (MIranda) Lowery, and Trey Lowery.; four great nephews, Conner Lowery, Landon Lowery, Samuel and Greyson Lowery; five great nieces, Madison Lowery, Kelsie Lowery, Sophie Lowery, Sparrow Lowery, and Eliza Lowery; beloved aunt and uncle Sherry (Joe) Yarchak; and a host of cousins and friends.
A visitation for Jan will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL, 35071. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Memorial Garden, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, AL 35071.
