Jerry Wayne Melton, age 74 of Birmingham passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018. Jerry was a veteran and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. Jerry was employed as an electric motor mechanic and had worked for Brannen Electric Motors and Cleveland Abrasives. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. Mr. Melton was preceded in death by his wife, Carol H. Melton; a daughter, Melissa Sue Dennis; brother, Raymond L. Melton; and sister, Doris Juanita Sloan. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Shonk; his grandson, Jared Dennis (Shannon); brothers, Sidney Melton, Bobby Ray Melton, and Alfred Oneal Melton; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Services will be announced by Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Burial will be in Liberty Minter Cemetery in Morris, AL
