Jo Ann Glasgow Loden passed away in her home August 28, 2019. She was preceded in death by her daughter Debra Loden; her parents Aurel "Bud" and Annie Lee Glasgow; by her siblings Pam Glasgow and Sarah Glasgow Weaver. She is survived by the love of her life, husband of 64 years, Tommy Lynn Loden; daughter Donna Loden Williamon (Bobby); son Phillip Loden (Sandy); brother William A "Buddy" Glasgow (Sarah) and sister Jennifer Gordan (Richard); Grandchildren, Trey Williamon, Morgan Mathews (Taylor), Brandon Moore (Brooke), Sheldon Loden (Cassidy); 4 great grandchildren Norah Jane Moore, Layton Rae Mathews, and soon to be born Brodie James Loden.
While her children were growing up, she was the neighborhood doctor and disciplinarian. Many remembered her driving the school bus for our neighborhood.... 10 cents a ticket. She had many of the kids come to her for tooth pulling and doctoring.
She loved going to ballgames. After her kids and grandkids quit playing sports she turned her passion to Braves baseball and Auburn/Alabama football. Ask her anything about sports and she could give you ALL the background of each player. She was an outstanding cook. Her recipes were from her head. When asked how to make something her answer would be a little bit of this and a little bit of that. You can't match her cornbread or dressing although her daughter and granddaughter will try.
Family will receive visitors Friday August 30, 2019 from 11am to 1pm with service to follow at Fultondale First Baptist Church. Graveside service to follow at Walker's Chapel Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Doug Alford and staff for their care of her during her illness; Hope Hospice for their care in her final days, Jernigan Healthcare for the support with medical equipment, Fultondale Fire and Rescue for the many calls they answered and for the community of Fultondale that has embraced us during this time.
