Julie Diane Smith

Julie Diane Smith, born on April 23, 1972, passed away on February 6, 2026, at the age of 53. Julie was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and raised in Fultondale, Alabama, and a current resident of Pinson, Alabama.

Julie loved her family and friends deeply. Her devotion and care to those around her is a true testimony of how much she valued life. In October of 2023, she proudly earned 20 years of service at Children's Hospital of Alabama, where she was employed. Julie had a passion for Christmas that would easily put Hallmark to shame. You could find her anywhere that had tacos, pretty flowers, animals of any kind, sparkles, or rainbows. Her essence in life brought joy and comfort to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Julie Diane Smith's family leaves a special message, "To say she was loved and will be missed in an understatement of a lifetime. We love you most and will see you again soon."

Julie Smith is survived by her daughter, Sara Camille Smith; step-daughter, Samantha Danielle Moorer; ex-husband, James Smith; and significant other, Phillip Richard Berryhill. She is predeceased by her father, Billy Ray Burchfield; and mother, Mamie Louise Burchfield; as well as her beloved dog, Tibbles Wolfield of Briscoe Street.

Visitation will be held at Walker's Chapel Baptist Church, located at 1525 Briscoe St, Fultondale, AL, on February 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life Service will follow at Walker's Chapel Baptist Church at the same address on February 12, 2026, starting at 1:00 pm.
