Lola Louise Hailes

Lola Louise Hailes, age 86 of Gardendale, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 21, 2026. She was born on January 8, 1940, in Cullman, Alabama, the daughter of Robert and Celie Freeman Dover.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Danny (Jane) Hailes; daughter Rhonda Hailes Horton; sister, Myra Hyatt, granddaughters; Melissia Riddle (Matt); Jean Hailes (Skip), April Mcallister (Jake), Haley Horton Marshall (Caleb); great-grandson, Michael Riddle (Megan), great-granddaughters, Hannah Haney, Leaha Pennington, Katie and Kallie McCallister and as well as a host of nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Hailes; her parents, Robert and Celie, her stepmother, Jewell Dover, four brothers, Brentice, Jerry, Olen and Hobert Dover; three sisters, Reba Bridgemon, Patsy Watwood, Bonnie Johnson, and son-in-law Mark Horton.

Services to honor Louise’s life will be held at Rideout’s Gardendale Chapel in Gardendale on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Friends are invited to a visitation beginning at 12:00 with a service to follow beginning at 1:00 pm. Louise will be laid to rest in Moncrief Cemetery. Rev. Darryl Jolley will officiate.
