Lora Jeanette Quick

Lora Jeanette Quick of Gardendale, Alabama passed into everlasting glory with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. Jeanette is survived by her sons Michael Brent Quick (Janice) of Gardendale, Gary Allex Quick (Joan) of Pinson, James Keith Quick (Frances) of Leighton, and Larry Gene Quick (Jennifer) of Crane Hill; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Cecil and Tressie Mae (Milligan) King; her husband, James Rathell Quick; and her great-grandchild Tanner Beason.

Jeanette was born on February 10, 1928 in Decatur, Alabama and lived in Ebenezer, Alabama until she married and moved first to Tarrant, Alabama and then to Gardendale, Alabama. She loved the Lord, her husband, her brothers and sisters at Pineywood Baptist Church, her four sons and their children and grandchildren. She lived a life of service to her family, her neighbors and her church. Her special gift was a love of cooking and a desire to serve others through good food. She enjoyed gardening as a natural extension of her love for cooking as well as her love of beautiful flowers. She was able to serve in the kitchen on several mission trips after James Rathell passed in 2000.

A celebration of life visitation for Lora will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A celebration of life service will occur Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A burial will occur at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071. To honor her memory, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pineywood Baptist Church, 498 Pineywood Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071.
