Martha Lynne Hubbard

Martha Lynne Hubbard from Gardendale, Al, went to live forever with our Lord and Savior on August 20, 2021. She was 88 years of age. Martha was born in Gardendale, Al, the oldest child of Ruby Skelton Swanson and William Berton Swanson, She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Harold Hubbard; her daughter, Rebecca Natalie Hubbard; daughter, Cheryl Lynne Hubbard; son James Harold Hubbard, II and brother William Berton Swanson, Jr. She is survived by her son, Steven Swanson Hubbard; daughter, Alecia Hubbard-Kirk and grandson, Timothy Wayne Brown Hubbard.

Martha graduated from Phillips High School in1951 and thereafter married James Harold Hubbard. Martha was a faithful member of Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. She was passionate about serving her family, friends and her church. Martha volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, travel and reading.

The family will receive friends at a visitation on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, Gardendale, AL at 10:00 in the morning. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at fightcf.cff.org.
