

O’Neal Hallmark, born May 5, 1951, passed away on March 1, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who dedicated his life to his family, hard work, and his many passions.
O’Neal shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Peggy Hallmark. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a proud and loving father to his three children: Camille Wiley (Marcie ), Deanna Hallmark Sides, and Ryan Hallmark. His legacy continued through his seven grandchildren: Samantha Wright (Gabe), Mackenzie Humphry (Jared), Kierstyn Wiley, Meghann Brown, Braxton Burleson, Katie Hallmark, and Tegan Hallmark, as well as his eight great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.He leaves behind a brother Eugene Hallmark (Wanda), sister Lois Tate (Don) and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his Parents Willard and Dorthy Hallmark
O’Neal had a deep love for family gatherings, fishing, camping, boating, restoring old cars and attending car shows whenever possible. He took great pride in his work, always having a project on hand. Whether he was making a beautiful home for his wife and children or working on his next big idea, he poured his heart into everything he did. His love for the water, boating, and simply being near it was one of his greatest pleasures.
A man of strength and determination, O’Neal instilled the values of hard work and resilience in those around him. He was always ready to lend a hand, though anyone who knew him well understood that his famous phrase—“It will only take five minutes”—meant you were in for much more than that.
O’Neal will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, dedication, and hard work will live on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Alvis, Jason Sloan, Ed Sloan, Gabe Wright, Jared Humphry, and Hunter Brown.
A visitation will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Corner, AL, on March 3rd, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Sammie Reid and Jacob Elliott.
