Opal L. Hendrix

Opal L. Hendrix, age 96 of Gardendale, Alabama passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Pineywood Baptist Church and later attended Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Marvin Hendrix; parents, Lucy Ann and Joseph Chester Moody. She is survived by her loving family two sons, Larry R. Hendrix and Lonnie S. Hendrix; and one daughter, Beverly L. Joiner; two sisters, Clara Nichols and Nell Huffman; her grandchildren, Jason Hendrix, Amy Kester (Keith), Kelli Burdette (Brian), Lori Harrison (Eric), Brett Hendrix, Aliesha Hayes (Doug), and Alena Joiner; great grandchildren, Austin Burdette, Jackson Burdette, Carson Burdette, Grayson Burdette, Caroline Kester, Emma Kate Kester, Breanna Hayes, Carter Hayes, Brynlee Harrison, and Baylee Harrison.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, February 11th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 PM with chapel funeral services on Thursday beginning at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Moncrief Cemetery.
