

Born on October 26, 1941, in Fultondale, Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Daisy Boughan, and her devoted husband of 54 years, James “Jimmy” Edgar Cato.
She is survived by her loving children, Jason (Adrienne) Cato and Cindy (Mike) Wadsworth; her granddaughter, Jamie Persall; and her step-grandson, Brasen Wadsworth.
A graduate of Tarrant High School, Class of 1960, Patsy married Jimmy in 1967 and built a life centered around family, faith, and community. She was an active member of the Fultondale Garden Club, the Fultondale Library Board, and a passionate supporter of youth sports at the local park. Patsy enjoyed playing softball and bowling, and she shared her musical talents by playing piano at church and teaching piano lessons from home in the evenings—all while working full-time at Publisher’s Warehouse, a division of EBSCO Industries.
Patsy will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, joyful spirit, selflessness, and deep love for others. Even in the later years of her life, her caring nature never faded. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Patricia will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at Bethel Cemetery, 9471 Thermal Rd, Warrior, AL 35180 beiging at 11:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB or UAB’s Alzheimer’s Disease Center.
