Renee Jones Ragsdale

Renee was born in Hartselle, AL. In 1957. Her family relocated to Gardendale in 1966. She graduated from Gardendale High School in 1975 & pursued her college education while working & raising her 2 children. She attained her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from UAB. She retired from the City of Gardendale Public Works Department in 2006. Spending time with her grandchildren , family & friends were her favorite pastimes.

Renee, wife, mama, MaNay, sister, friend, no matter what she went by, she was loved deeply & will be missed very much.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Adrain & Jean (Garner) Jones, brother, Gwen Jones of Hartselle, AL, sister, Sonya Jones Beeson & cherished aunt, Leta Garner Stephenson.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 50 years, James (Skip) Ragsdale of Morris, son Bo (Jennifer) Ragsdale of Gardendale, daughter Jodi Ragsdale Blackerby (Daniel) of Springville, adored & cherished grandchildren, Camryn (Sawyer) Strickland, Caise McGraw, Ella & Charlee Ragsdale & one great grandson, Graham Strickland, sister Cheri Jones Hardin (Bill), sister in love, Tracey Moody McGraw, nephews Matt (Mitzi) Jones, Gary (Lori) Norwood, Johnny Norwood, Ty McGraw, nieces Jill (Sam) Jones, Kristian (Alyson) Moody, and special family friends, Raymond & Terrie Tyler along with so many others that loved her.

She was the heart of her family & was absolutely the best MaNay to her grandkids.

Funeral services will be at Ridout's Funeral Home in Gardendale on Saturday, August 30th with visitation from 12:30-2:00 & funeral service beginning at 2:00. Burial at Oakwood Memorial Gardens following. Rev. Denny Armstrong officiating.

Pall bearers will be Gary Norwood, Matt Jones, Michael Chandler, Devon Harper, Raymond Tyler & Sawyer Strickland.
