Robert E Walker III

A celebration of life for Robert E. Walker III will be held on Thursday December 23, 2021 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Visitation for the public is at 1 pm followed by a funeral service at 2 pm and a private graveside service.

He is survived by his wife Linda, children Susan and Robby (Jenni/wife) and grandchildren Riley and Jake, his brothers Gene (Janet/wife) and James (Cathy/wife) and nephews Ross, Alan, and Matthew, and his niece Sarah. He is preceded in death by his father Robert E. Walker Jr. and his mother Alene.

Bob was born on July 20, 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama to parents Bobby and Alene. He attended Auburn University and graduated from Samford University with a degree in Pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist at Eckerd in Gardendale for 25 years. He also served on the governor’s advisory board, City Council of Gardendale, and Secretary of the Pharmaceutical Association. He helped facilitate the Civic Center, Post Office and clock tower in Gardendale.

He was a member of Gardendale Mt. Vernon (Hope Community Church) where he was a part of the choir and Men’s Ensemble. He loved to travel and was an avid gardener. His family was his joy in life. He will be dearly missed.
