Ruth “Beady” Pyle a resident of Hayden, AL, was born at home in Cordova, AL, and went home to be with the Lord at the age of 90. She played basketball in High School and was Captain of the Basketball team and voted Best All Around in her Senior Class. She worked during WWII at Oak Ridge, TN as a chemical operator helping to make the “A” bomb. She married Warner Odell Pyle and together they had two daughters, Wanda and Rita who became her pride and joy. She enjoyed reading the Bible, crochet, bird watching, and listening to quartet music.
Ruth was preceded in death by siblings, Bill Tidwell, Virgle Tidwell, Ben Tidwell and Margaret Virgone; grandsons, John Warner Langford, and Michelle’s husband, Robert Roy Odom III.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Wanda Odell Pyle Edwards (Lewie) and Rita Gale Pyle Langford (Mike Johnson); grandchildren, Ruth Michelle Odom; Donald Eugene Helms, Jr. (Wendy); great grandchildren, Haleigh Michelle Worley (Michael), Heather Brooke Odom, Robert Blake Odom, Joshua Tyler Helms, and Chase Jackson Helms; great-great grandchildren, Kaden Michael Worley and Blakeley Michelle Worley.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Sunday, Nov 29th, with a visitation from 2pm until 3pm; funeral service at 3:00pm followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL.
