Shirley Elizabeth Southard

Shirley was the daughter of Charles and Martha Elizabeth Berry. Shirley was retired from Jefferson County as a revenue agent. She was employed for many years at the Social Security Administration.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William T. Southard Sr. and her great great granddaughter, Ember Southard. She is survived by her daughter Katie (Steve) Burnett, Katherine (Jeff) Reece, Karen (Perry) Killingsworth and William "Bub" Southard.

Granny was loved by her grandchildren Scott (Delaney) Burnett, Jason (Amanda) Burnett, Tye Southard and Cassidy (Hunter) Tims, and her great grandchildren- Emma, Lydia, Miller, Eloise, Calvin, Amelia, Zeke, Anna, and Bellamy and her great great grandson Taylor.

Shirley loved Disney World and made her last trip there just six years ago. She was active in the Square Dance Association in the 1970's and 1980's. She loved her family and never forgot to send everyone a card on their birthday.

Services for Shirley will be held on Monday, May 26, 2025. The family will receive friends at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy from 10:30 Am until 11:00 AM with a Graveside service to follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL at 11:15 AM.
