

Preceded by his wife, Barbara Collier Jackson of 48 years, his mother, Mozelle Kirby (Roy), his grandparents, Zeke Forrester (Jessie), his sister Hope Kirby, his brother Joel Grubbs, and his sister Elouise McReynolds (Harry).
Survived by his daughter Kimilie, his son Mitch (Ellen) his son Mike (Robin), four grandchildren, Kyle, Nikki, Mitchell (Amber), Craig (Catherine), seven grandchildren, Jacob, Eli, Alissa, Ember, Montana, Rafe and Wesley. His brother Bill Grubbs, sister Hollis Grubbs and many nieces and nephews.
Stanley was born November 1, 1940, in Cullman, Alabama. Most of his childhood was spent in Powdery, Alabama where he attended Jones Valley High School excelling in Basketball. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching every sport Alabama participated in. Stanley joined the Navy out of high school. He spent most of his tour in Pearl Harbor as a photographer. After serving our country, he came back to Powderly and went to work as a shoe salesman at GES in Birmingham. As he honed his skills, Stanley joined JC Penny's as a salesman later becoming a department manager and then a store manager.
Stanley loved dancing and Karaoke. He was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Aerie 972. He was, as his brother Bill describes him; "a natural born comedian."
A visitation for Stanley will be held Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. Following the visitation will be a committal service at 1:15 PM at Alabama National Cemetery.
