William A Chatham

Willam was the son of the late Charlie and Novie Chatham. He joined the U.S. Army at a young age and served 4 years in the Korean Conflict. After his military service he worked at L & N Railroad (CSX) for 43 years and retired in 1994.

William married Carolyn Marie Huckeba on August 30, 1952. They had four children, Karen Chatham, Brenda Good, Kenneth Chatham, and Scott Chatham. He was a man of many talents. He had a very kind and giving heart. He greatly loved his family, friends, and community.

He is survived by his adoring wife of 67 years, Carolyn Marie Chatham and children Brenda (Marion) Good of Panama City, FL, Kenneth (Teresa) Chatham of Mansfield, TX, Scott (Kim) Chatham of Dothan, AL. Grandchildren Adam (Tiffany) Good, Eric (Jessica) Good, Tina (Tyson) Hobbs, Kevin(Michelle) Chatham, Amber Chatham, Tim (Tiffany) Chatham, Tanner Chatham, Brittany Chatham, Colton (Alexis) Chatham, Amanda Garner, Ashley (Braden) Willis. Great Grandchildren, Maddox Good, Aubrey Chatham, Cayleigh Speight, Karter Chatham, Kade, Kaileigh, and Asher Willis, Kaleigh Carpenter, Jaxson Veselka, Logan Hobbs.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Chatham; grandson, Ethan Garner; great granddaughter, Addilyn Chatham.

Visitation will be held Thursday August 1, 2019 from 6:00pm -8:00pm at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071.

Celebration of life and legacy will be held on Friday August 2, 2019 at 10:00am.

Burial with Military Honors will be held directly after at Moncrief Cemetery, 2055 Moncrief Rd, Gardendale, AL 35071.
