William G. Cornelius, Jr. (W.G.), age 72 of Gardendale, AL passed away on Sunday, September 14th, 2014. He retired from SONAT. W.G. is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Sorenson Cornelius; daughter, Cris Edwards (William); son, Todd Cornelius (Staci); grandchildren, Emily and Jake Edwards, Alissa, Alex and Jack Cornelius; sister, Mary Catherine England; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charlie and Judy Wilson; sister-in-law, Eloise Cornelius.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 11 AM with visitation from 9:30 until service time. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Southeastern Oncology Association, Bruno’s Cancer Center, and Brandon, Amy, and staff of Alacare Home Health Systems for their care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in W.G.’s name to Cornerstone Ranch in Gardendale, Alabama. The Rev. Greg Davis will officiate. Pallbearers will be Don Neely, Jerry McAnnally, Steve Garrett, Jay Jenkins, and his grandsons.
