He was preceded in death by his parents, William Howard Flippo and Mildred Ozelle Hancock. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Richard Flippo and his grandson, Cody Drew Stewart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda Flippo, his daughters, Debbie Hurst (Lynn) and Cynthia Stewart (Tim). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Craig Hurst, Hayden Creel (Stone) and Jake Stewart (Maribeth), and his great grandchildren, Liam Hurst and Noble Creel.
He was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church for 46 years. He retired from Acipco after 39 years of dedicated service as Steel Pipe Shipping supervisor. He served on the Gardendale City Council for 37 years and also as a volunteer fireman for the city of Gardendale for 17 years.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 2 pm at Mount Olive Cemetery.
