Amanda grew up in the North Austin area, spending her younger years building lasting relationships. She enjoyed a happy and active childhood where her spunky personality began to shine.
After graduating from Leander High School in 1999, she began her lifelong career as a hairstylist. She loved her career and her clients who over the years became friends.
Amanda and Tim met, and quickly became each other's best friends. Emma soon came along and completed their family. Emma brought light to her parents' lives, and it shows. She is the best of both her mom and dad. Tim and Emma were the center of Amanda’s world, and she of theirs. Their family was so closely united.
Amanda and Tim married on April 8, 2011. It wasn’t your typical wedding; it was a joyful explosion of their personalities, a promise of the fun-filled life they were building, that only they two could create. With their daughter, Emma, they have lived a life of adventure, laughter and joy…making every day a memory.
Amanda lived her life with passion, purpose, and a spark that left a lasting impression on everyone that knew her. Every family member and friend had a different type of connection to Amanda, and each connection was so special to her. If Amanda loved you, she loved you fiercely, and that unwavering affection will leave an unforgettable mark on each of their hearts.
Amanda was known for her vibrant personality- spunky, fun, endlessly creative, and unapologetically herself. She had a zest for life and lived each day to the fullest. She was the heartbeat of every room, the “fun coordinator”, and always had an idea on how to bring the fun to every event and occasion. Amanda loved holidays and made each one a joyful memory. Halloween was her favorite, and she added a new character to her yard display every year.
Amanda loved her plants, crochet, and other crafting. She loved traveling with extended family and living life as an adventure. Her home and her heart were filled with life, color and care.
Amanda is survived by her loving husband, Tim; daughter, Emma; her parents Renea and Wayne Deckard, and Rick and Suzanne Lange; her siblings Gary (Christine), Michael, Valerie (Will), Ashley (Tyler), Brittany (Seth), and Grayson (Darcy); grandmothers, Mary Anne Lange and Charlotte Ellisor; 25 nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Clarence Lange, James and Vernice Moon, Fred and Marie Deckard, and Tom Ellisor.
How do you honor someone that brought so much joy and love into the lives of her family and those around her? Amanda’s memory is kept alive by sharing her funny stories, by playing those crazy holiday games, and by bringing laughter to each day as often as possible. Amanda will live in our hearts and memories, from the moments of joy and love she created, and the impact she had on each of us.
