

Billie L. Dunn, 85 of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Liberty Hill, Texas, passed away on September 11, 2016 in Granbury, Texas. Billie was born on June 18, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas to Marvin Paul and Thelma Russell Hart. On January 15, 1948 she married Jack Dunn in Seguin, Texas.
Billie was ten years old and lived with her family on Hickam Field, Hawaii on December 7, 1941. She witnessed the Pearl Harbor attack and often shared those memories with family and friends.
Billie loved her family and enjoyed all the family and extended family gatherings at her home to celebrate holidays, special events, and simply being together. She was a compassionate and caring homemaker. Her family has very fond memories of her wonderful meals and homemade pies which always seemed to be waiting for the arrival of planned and unexpected guest and family.
Billie was active in her church serving on many committees throughout the years. She enjoyed helping others in need. She worked as a Bank Teller for 10 years at First National Bank of Beeville and Austin National Bank. She also worked in the Library with the Liberty Hill Independent School District.
Billie was preceded in death by Jack, her husband for 58 years, on September 16, 2006. She is survived by a daughter, Jackie (Jeff) Moddle of McDonough, GA, son, Michael Dunn (Dee Fox Cornell) of Spirit Lake, IA, daughter Sherry (George) Cavitt of Ralls, TX, daughter Julie Chavez of Austin, brother Robert (Esther) Perryman of Mt. Vernon, MO, sister Ruth Ann Harrington (John Allen) of Fairfield, AK, sister Mary (Jim) Lundschen of Granbury, TX, grandchildren Jon (Shayna) Moddle, Shawn (Julie) Cavitt, Chrissie (Dustin) Cavitt Oliver, Jennifer (Chris) Moddle Strickland, Riley Dunn, Roman and Olivia Chavez, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 26th at First Baptist Church of Georgetown (1333 West University Avenue, Georgetown, TX). A celebration of her life will follow at 11:00 AM. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 27th at 11:00 AM at the Pawnee Cemetery in Pawnee, Texas.
