It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Billy Wade Wiley, affectionately known to many as “Wild Bill,” age 73, of Georgetown, Texas. Bill passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him.
Bill was born to Robert and Louise Wiley in College Station, Texas, on March 2, 1953. He was raised in Jarrell, Texas, where he enjoyed playing football and baseball during his school years. Later in life, he ran a wrecker service and mechanic shop in Georgetown for many years before retiring due to health conditions.
Bill loved the simple things in life. He was an avid gardener who found great joy in sharing the vegetables he grew with friends and neighbors. He loved the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying time outside. He also had a special place in his heart for his Golden Retrievers.
Anyone who knew Bill knew he could be a stubborn old mule when he set his mind to something—but beneath that stubborn streak was a heart of pure gold. If you were lucky enough to call him a friend, you knew you had someone loyal, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand when it mattered most.
Bill will be remembered for his stories, his loyalty, and the way he made people feel welcome and valued. He often said “I rode with him, I have no complaints.”
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jackie; his sister, Lynda Maedgen (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Wiley; his father, Robert Wiley; and his brothers, Jerry, Randy, Mike, Melvin, and Larry.
Memorial donations may be made to the Brooklynn Miller Foundation in support of children fighting cancer.
Smell ya later, Good Buddy…
