Bobbie Nell Ickes

Bobbie Nell Ickes, 89, homemaker, of Georgetown passed away July 1, 2016. She was born December 15, 1926 to Hubert C. and Lela (Hunt) Brock in Bartlett, TX. She married Edward Ickes on April 21, 1945 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Georgetown, where they were lifelong members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, husband Edward, and daughter Susan Sparwath.

Survivors include sister Irene Stephens of Belton, sister-in-law Dora Brock of Davilla, children Vivian Ickes of Austin, Carolyn Stigdon (Hugh) of Georgetown, Shirley Royster (Tom) of Denton, Cathy Sullivan (Percy) of Austin, Terry Ickes (Melanie) of Lebanon, MO, Rebecca Adams (Charlie) of Georgetown, Margaret Anderson (Robert) of Georgetown, Mark Ickes of Austin, and son-in-law Paul Sparwath of Cumming, GA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 The family wishes to thank Visiting Angels, The Wesleyan at Scenic, and Wesleyan Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, at 6:00 PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, with Rosary following at 7:00 PM. Services will be held Wednesday, July 6, at 10:00 AM at St. Helen Catholic Church, with burial following at IOOF Cemetery. Donations may be made in Bobbie’s name to the charity of your choice.
