

Clarence Taylor Kleen, 69 of Florence, died May 17, 2008 in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 on the grounds of Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with military honors provided by Ft. Hood. Clarence was born in Georgetown to Arthur Lee and Vera Mosie (Kelly) Kleen on August 1, 1938. He attended Georgetown schools. Clarence went off to serve his country in the Army in 1957 and upon discharge he spent time in the National Guard. Clarence married Arletta Austin on September 15, 1962 in Georgetown. He was a lifelong Williamson County resident moving to Florence in January of this year. Clarence worked as a welder for over 30 years at Texas Crushed Stone before retiring. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Georgetown, San Gabriel Lodge # 89 A.F.&A.M., and the Ham Radio Club. Clarence is preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Mary Jane Kleen. He leaves to cherish his memory a wife; Arletta of Florence, sons; Tim (Cari) of Georgetown, Terry of Walburg, and Chris (Michelle) of Bertram, daughters; Charlotte Renee Summers of Florence, Robin Lea Kleen of Florence, brothers; Richard (Anita) Georgetown, Bob (Linda) of Blanket, Charles (Marilyn) of Pflugerville, sisters; Dorothy Kleen of Georgetown and Margaret (Floyd) Dyer of Beckville, and twelve grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown.
