

Cherished son, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather, Daniel "Danny" Zavala, 62, lifelong resident of Georgetown, went peacefully to Heaven on Monday, December 8, 2014 surrounded by his loved ones. Danny was born on April 2, 1952. He is survived by his father, Daniel Zavala Sr. his son, Philip Zavala; grandson, Philip Zavala II; brothers, Anthony Zavala and Reuben Zavala; sister, Rose Davila; nephew, Eli Zavala-Davila; nieces, Joyce Davila, Emily Zavala, and Camille Davila; great niece and goddaughter, Janessa Carlin; great nephew Micah Martinez; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loving friends and family members. He is preceded in death by his mother, Fillie Coronado Zavala; and his sister, Amelia "Molly" Zavala. Danny was a very hardworking man who worked alongside his father in their own masonry business for many years. He was also a kind hearted soul who lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed golf, his novelas, but most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He succumbed to a short battle with an aggressive type of lymphoma only after learning of the illness in late October. Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, December 15, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, TX with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2700 East University, Georgetown, TX. Interment will follow at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Randy Munoz, Roland Ramos, Michael Martinez, James Zavala, George Zavala, and Zek Khan. Honorary pallbearers include: Herbert Coronado, Lorenzo "Shorty" Valdez, and Salvador Prieto.
