Dolly Mae Friedrich

Dolly married LeRoy Friedrich on December 12, 1952 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bartlett.

Dolly & LeRoy lived in Harlingen for a year while LeRoy served in the Air Force during the Korean War. After his service in the military, they returned to Bartlett and began farming & started their family. Dolly worked as an administrative assistant when the children were older. She was a great seamstress, sewing clothing for herself, her children & grandchildren and sewing curtains & bedspreads for the home. She sewed five wedding dresses for the girls in the family. She was always in the kitchen and loved cooking for the family. She baked homemade cakes for all her children and grandchildren's' birthdays. She was always baking bread and was generous in sharing it. She gardened and canned the vegetables from the garden.

They moved to Georgetown in 1978 where LeRoy’s electrical business was booming and Dolly was his apprentice.

Dolly helped with Camp Crestview for many years serving lunches and snacks. She loved interacting with the children. She was an aid in the Crestview Mother’s Day Out Program. She volunteered in other areas in the church and community.

Dolly is survived by her three children Lynn Roy Friedrich, Terry Joe Friedrich (Sherry), and Darla Joy Ward (Jack), ten grandchildren, Memorie Spears, Heather Dore (Daniel), Candice Friedrich, Kyle Friedrich, Beth Daw (Brian), Kacie Pryor (Lance), Kayla Friedrich, Cayman Ward, Cohen Ward (Aubrey) and Caiya Ward, numerous great-grandchildren and three great, great grandsons, and her sister, Cheryl Darlene Brinkman.

She is predeceased in death by her husband, LeRoy Friedrich, her parents Howard & Alma HIcks and her sister, LaNell Procter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 22, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Crestview Baptist Church.
