Funeral services for Jesse Robert Whitson, 99 of Georgetown, will be held 10AM, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory with Jeff Loudin officiating. Burial is to follow at 1PM at Flint Creek Cemetery in Flat, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8PM, Friday, August 26, 2016 at the funeral home.

Jesse Robert Whitson died Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Round Rock. He was born June 21, 1917 in Anson, Texas the son of George Augustus Whitson and Maudie Ethel (Wise) Whitson. Jesse married Violetta (Wolff) Whitson February 18, 1949 in Belton, Texas. He worked for J.M. Boyer, Inc. in Austin for 25 years, retiring in 1981 as Foreman and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #67. Jesse was a natural provider for his family, he always ensured his entire family was taken care of. He loved working with sheet metal and wood working and always had a sweet tooth.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Billy T. Whitson; and three sisters, Ilene Loudin, Thelma McPherson, and Charlene Naumann.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Violetta Whitson; a daughter, Cindy Lock of Bertram; son, Michael Whitson of Round Rock; three sisters, Irene Jackson of Belton, Jen Ellis of Belton, and Sally Autry of Denton; and five grandchildren.
