Jimmy Ray Simpson, Sr.

Jimmy was a business owner and mason. His passions were playing dominoes, fishing, gardening, family gatherings and telling stories of his birth family’s past. He was a devoted husband of 55 years to Nancy JoAnn, a loving dad for 63 years to 10 children, a proud grandfather for 19 years to 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Surviving children are Carol, Terry (husband, Gene), Sandra (husband, Jim), Jimmy, Jr., Tracy, Kristal, Trishoune, Kenisha, Kenneth and Ashley Danielle. Grandchildren are Keith (wife, Arni), Cody, Ashley Nicole, Renee, Da’Marian, Maurice, Adriana, Malaysia, Amyr, Danisha, Keland, Tanisha, Clarence, A.J. and Atreyu. Great-grandchild is Ian.

Loving and caring daughter, Tracy, and son, Jimmy, Jr. were Jimmy’s primary caretakers.

Jimmy’s family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6th at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 393 N. IH 35, Georgetown, TX.  Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 7th at Lawler Baptist Church in Florence, TX.  Burial will follow at Lawler Cemetery.
